On-Site Camping (Optional Add-On)

Participants may camp (with their own gear) on site during workshop weekends for an additional $60 per night (Friday and/or Saturday night). Sunday night camping option is available for $60 with departure by 11:00 am Monday morning. Camping is rustic and includes access to a shower and composting toilet. You must bring your own towel, soap and other toiletries as they will not be provided. There is toilet tissue for your use in the outhouse.

Because we are in a wild, high-desert environment, local wildlife—including javelina, coyotes, snakes, and scorpions—regularly pass through the area. For your safety and comfort, campers are required to:

Keep all footwear and gear inside your tent
All food must be left in your vehicle. Never bring food into your tent, as it will attract animals and insects

This is a beautiful and alive landscape, and we ask everyone to camp mindfully and respectfully. Being aware of your surroundings is part of the experience—and part of what makes staying on site so special.

There is absolutely NO cooking at your tent site as the vegetation and land is incredibly dry. Wildfires can start in an instant.

Hiking and Exploring Bisbee While You're Here

Our property backs directly onto hundreds of acres of rugged Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land, offering abundant opportunities for hiking, wandering, and exploration right outside the workshop site. Just a 10–15 minute drive away is the charming historic mining town of Bisbee, known for its colorful hillside architecture, 1,000 step stair-climb, and vibrant arts community—perfect for an afternoon adventure or post-workshop meal. FAQ's

Do I need prior building experience?
No. These workshops are beginner-friendly. We’ll guide you through each process, and learning happens by doing.

How physically demanding are the workshops?
Very. This is hands-on, physical work. Expect to lift, dig, carry materials, and get dirty. Please plan accordingly.

What should I wear?
Work clothes you don’t mind getting very dirty, sturdy closed-toe shoes, layers for temperature changes, and a wide-brimmed hat for sun protection.

What is the weather like?
Expect large temperature swings. Days can be hot in the sun, while nights and mornings can be cold. Stying hydrated is incredibly important. Plan to drink more than you're used to or think you need to.

Can I camp on site?
Yes. On-site camping is available as an add-on during workshop weekends and includes access to basic amenities.

What amenities are available?
Campers have access to a shower, composting toilet and sink. Refrigeration is not available.

Are meals provided?
Yes—lunch and snacks are provided on workshop days only (Saturday and Sunday). You are responsible for providing your own breakfast and dinner.

Is the site safe?
This is a rustic, active desert environment. Wildlife such as javelina, coyotes, snakes, and scorpions are present. Campers must store food properly in vehicle at all times and keep gear and footwear inside tents.

Can I bring food into my tent?
No. Food in tents attracts wildlife. Keep all food in your vehicle.

Are showers hot?
Yes, the shower has a propane on-demand water heater.

Is there cell service or Wi-Fi?
Cell service is limited and there is no access to wifi. This is an opportunity to unplug and focus on the experience.

Is laundry available on site?
No, but there is a laundromat in Douglas, about 20 minutes away.

What should I bring for camping?
Your own tent, sleeping gear, personal items, work gloves, reusable water bottle, and a headlamp or flashlight.
